Say Hello to Cheryl (Cheri) May, this week’s Face of Braselton & Hoschton!
Cheryl (Cheri) May has called Gwinnett, Hall, and Barrow counties home for nearly four decades. Originally from Michigan, weekends spent at Lake Michigan fostered a love of community and the outdoors that continues to shape Cheri May’s life and service. After attending Ferris State University in Big Rapids, Michigan, Cheri May earned an Associate’s Degree in Marketing from the School of Business and completed advanced coursework in Social Casework. This background provided the skills to help families navigate emotional and behavioral challenges—experience that has guided a lifelong commitment to service.
Professionally, Cheri May retired as a Residential Sales Associate with EMC Security, where trust and relationships with local families were at the core of the work. Service roles have included working as a Case Worker with St. Vincent de Paul and volunteering at the Gift of Grace House in Atlanta, which provides a safe haven for women living with AIDS.
In addition, Cheri May served four years on the Gwinnett County Merit Board, ensuring fairness in employee grievances, and is a graduate of the Citizens Academy. They also serve on the Public Facilities Authority for 4 Points Preparatory School, supporting education and community development.
Strong community ties remain central. As a frequent volunteer for Braselton events, Cheri May believes in giving back and building stronger neighborhoods.
Now, Cheri May is running for office to bring experience, compassion, and accountability to public service—focusing on stronger families, transparent government, and a thriving community.
Married for 45 years, 2 children and 2 grandchildren
