I grew up in Northeast Vermont and earned my bachelor’s degree in Biology from the University of Vermont in 2013, followed by my Doctor of Optometry degree from the Southern College of Optometry in 2017. After graduation, I returned to my hometown of Newport, Vermont, where I had the privilege of practicing alongside my father for several years.  In 2021, my wife, Megan, and I relocated to Georgia, where I joined Drs. Sorah and Canupp at Vision Source Winder and Premier Vision Partners. We now call this area home, along with our 1½-year-old Bernedoodle, Louie.

Outside of the office, Megan and I enjoy staying active and spending time outdoors, traveling, visiting family in Vermont and Mississippi, golfing, and watching football.

I am proud to be an active member of the Braselton Rotary Club, the Georgia Optometric Association, and the American Optometric Association.

Q: What do you do for a living and what do you like most about it?

I’m an optometrist with Premier Vision Partners and Vision Source Winder. What I love most about my work is getting to know people from all backgrounds — both those who grew up here and others who, like me, have made this community their new home — and helping make a difference in their daily lives by enhancing and protecting their vision.

Q: What advice would you want to give or leave with people? Or , If you could go back in time to give yourself some wisdom, what would you say?

Life is always going to throw a few curveballs you can’t plan for. Lean on your family, friends, and faith, and you’ll find a way through anything.

Q: Where do you see yourself in 5 to 10 years?

In the next 5–10 years, I see myself continuing to grow here, working alongside the talented doctors and wonderful staff to care for our patients. My wife and I share a passion for travel, so we hope to see a bit more of the world along the way.

Q: If reading for pleasure, what do you like?

If I’m reading, it’s usually a sports blog or an article about one of the Boston teams — or Mississippi State, my wife Megan’s alma mater.

Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be and why?

Lately, Megan and I have had our eyes on Iceland and the French Alps for a winter getaway. If I could take off anywhere right now, it would definitely be one of those two destinations.

Q: What is the most beautiful place in the world you have already visited?

Berchtesgaden, Germany in the wintertime is absolutely unbelievable — it feels like something out of a postcard. But I also have a soft spot for the entire west coast of Ireland; it’s rugged, peaceful, and full of character.

Q: If you could choose anyone that is alive today and not a relative; with whom would you love to have lunch? Why? And where locally would y’all meet for this lunch?

I’d love to have lunch with Larry Bird — the chance to hear stories from his NBA days would be amazing. For the setting, I’d pick Jack’s Public House.

Local Station and Cotton Calf are always top of our list!

Q: How long have you lived or worked in our community?

I joined our group when I moved to Georgia in 2021.

What I love most about living here is having the mountains, the Gulf Coast, and a major airport all within reach, while still enjoying the small-town feel every day.

D2: The Mighty Ducks and The Office

Bread Pudding at The Red Bar in Grayton Beach

Q: What is your go to band when you can’t decide what to listen to?
